It is an eco-friendly construction equipment that uses LPG for its fuel in place of diesel construction equipment under the government's mandatory measures to reduce emissions and pollution generated by construction equipment.
Why do we need eco-friendly construction equipment?
One unit of aged construction equipment produces 60.5kg of particulate matter each year, amounting to 11 times of that produced by an aged vehicle. So far, the exhaust gases emitted by construction equipment have been outside proper control and regulation. Therefore, the government enacted the Air Quality Management District Act to create a foundation to file orders for deteriorated construction equipment to attach emission reduction devices or to remodel/replace into low-pollution engines from April 2020. However, eco-friendly alternatives are still lacking. In particular, the construction equipment used in factories or construction sites are used within enclosed areas where the pollutants produced by the construction equipment are immediately inhaled by workers on site, which makes it an urgent matter to supply eco-friendly construction equipment.

Development of next-generation LPG construction equipment
We developed 45 kW construction machinery LPG engines from 2019 to 2021. The LPG system enhances fuel efficiency by at least 10%, compared to the preexisting mixer method.
In addition, it meets both the US CARB Tier 4 Final and the European Stage V standards for off-road gas engines. They are expected to be a practical alternative to eco-friendly construction machinery since they show similar performance to diesel engines and generate clean exhaust gases. The Ministry of Environment has been reducing air pollution by outdated construction machinery through the outdated construction machinery LPG engine replacement project launched in 2023.
