President's Greeting

Thank you for visiting the Korea LPG Association website.

The Korea LPG Association will do its best for the sustainable development of the LPG industry. Since LPG was first introduced to Korea in 1959, the LPG industry has been developing with a rising demand for clean and economical energy. LPG has become one of the most common fuels, being used by 3,780,000 households for heating and by 1,960,000 LPG cars.

The roles of LPG have been expanding in line with strengthened global environmental regulations.

The European Union has been tightening the transportation exhaust gas regulations and sparing no support for the distribution of LPG cars for a long period of time. In addition, LPG-powered vessels have come into the spotlight since they can cope with both particulate matter and greenhouse gas issues in accordance with the International Maritime Organization’s regulations on GHG emissions from ships.

LPG vehicles, which were first introduced to Korea in 1982, have been considered eco-friendly vehicles for decades, whose eco-friendliness, economic feasibility, and good infrastructure have been proven. LPG vehicles are contributing to reducing vehicle emissions including particulate matter and greenhouse gases at comparatively low costs than other types of eco-friendly vehicles.

LPG is making a great shift in global energy paradigms. Energy requires sustainable policy strategies that take eco-friendliness, economic feasibility, energy security into account.
LPG plays a pivotal role, as an eco-friendly fuel, in attaining the national goal of energy security and carbon neutrality.

We will put forth the efforts to develop technology and increase demand so that this energy source can open the era of future carbon neutrality.

Thank you.
